More about STOAF - Stockholm Business Angels

The group invests in advanced technology and future fast-growing companies. Their focus is limited to Stockholm and the surrounding area within the reach of two hours by car. They seek to support startups with low search and transaction costs.

Experience

STOAF was founded in 2008, initially including four partners. The Group is a member of the Swedish Venture Capital Association, the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA), and the Business Executive council. They have also been registered with the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority since October 2014.

How much do they invest?

Investments vary in accordance with the potential and risk associated with each project. They utilize a multistep process of due diligence for each project, to estimate the right investment. They often aim to syndicate with other investors in early-stage investments. Apart from capital, the group can also support companies with their collected expertise.

How do they work?

When they first invest, they often do so with a limited input of capital. Their entry is careful, but one they get a better understanding of the team and the project, they might be willing to go further. It is best to approach them with a short and precise description with the size of two to three pages.

This makes a difference to them

They value companies with high growth potential, business scalability, and a sustainable or repeatable uniqueness. The group has a yearly influx of up to 500 startups. They are looking for the opportunities to make investments that will give 10x the capital in 5 to seven years.
