They do not exclude any specific area of business. Instead, they focus on teams trying either to build a new company or to get ready for a-round funding.
The Springfield Project consists of a team with many years of experience from business-building, startups, and Venture Capital. Focusing on early-stage startups, the fund uses both experience and capital to accelerate their companies and make them fundable.
The fund invests in batches of 10 companies two times per year. Each company will be provided with a first seed round of up to $59.000. The most promising entrepreneurs will be offered an a-round investment in the range of $240.000 - 1.180.000. Achieving this, the company will also join a prolonged 12-month program.
They read all applications carefully and invite the most promising entrepreneurs to make a live pitch. Within one week, the fund will decide whether or not to grant an investment. If the company is found to be a match, they will be invited for further negotiation, where investments and a shareholders agreement will be settled.
During the application process, the fund is most focused on the team. The most important thing for them is the drive of the people, not the business.
