By taking a collaborative and independent approach and making street-level images available for anyone and everyone to use, Mapillary has become the world’s fastest-growing dataset of street-level imagery.

The thing is, most people don’t know that there’s a rapidly growing need for keeping maps both updated and intelligent. We need someone to help us spread the word.

Is that you?

We’re looking for someone with a truckload of energy and great writing skills to join us as we build our press office and roll out our communication plans globally. This is a great opportunity to help us shape our international communication efforts from the bottom up, while learning from award-winning experts in their fields. Don’t worry if you don’t know much about computer vision - Mapillary is built by some of the world’s most prominent computer vision experts, so this is the place to pick up anything you might not already know.

Requirements

  • Outstanding communication: Whether tweeting or talking, you’re a confident communicator who knows how to get your point across succinctly
  • Excellent English: You’ll be doing a lot of writing in this job - excellent English is a must
  • Initiative and problem-solving: You turn to Google before your manager and take pride in finding solutions to problems
  • Time management: You’ll be working against deadlines, so being able to manage your time is important
  • A can-do attitude: We’re a rapidly growing company where there’s little time for hand-holding, so you need to be excited to get your hands dirty
  • Attention to detail: Things move fast here, so paying close attention goes down well

Your tasks will include:

  • Building our case study database
  • Building our conferences and awards database
  • Developing content for our blog and social media channels
  • Researching stats, data, and trends for international PR campaigns
  • Developing material for PR pushes, including pitches, press releases, and briefs
  • Executing international PR campaigns and announcements
  • Helping out with day-to-day tasks as and when it pops up

What you’ll get:

  • Training and mentoring from experts in their fields
  • The opportunity to run your own projects
  • The chance to make a real impact in how we run our communication operations - we want to learn from you, too
  • The option to join us at our team offsites
  • And, of course, as much coffee as you can drink, gear to help you map the world through the Mapillary platform, and weekly community breakfasts at The Ground

This is a three month long paid internship, with the opportunity for extension at the end of the contract. The position is based at The Ground in Malmö, with the option to work partially remotely.

Are you the one? Apply before June 29, addressing the cover letter to Sandy Errestad. Make sure your cover letter explains why you're interested in doing an internship at Mapillary. First round telephone interviews will be conducted the following week, with the successful candidate to start as early as possible.
