In COLIVE we address the foremost pain of the modern cities, where the economic growth of a region is limited by a shortage of existing housing options available for young professionals. Built upon relationships with real estate operators COLIVE provides an online marketplace for smart, social and cost-effective accommodation for young adults between the age of 20-35 years. Right now we are looking for a full-stack web developer to build the platform from the ground up.

 You will have an overall responsibility over the source code and on a daily basis will work closely with the product owner and the co-founders. We are a small team; we are fast, result-oriented and looking for a real Doer. You will get all the help you need when it comes to the software development processes, functional specifications, requirements and design.  

Nevertheless, you need to be experienced enough with web development to confidently use this input for evolving your source code real fast and converting your first line of code into the live product. 

We are located in the heart of Stockholm and share a co-working space with other start-ups, in here the air is filled with inspiration, walls covered with graffiti and kitchen conversations get interrupted by table tennis matches. Can you feel it? 

What you will do: 

• Be a major contributor to all stages of the product life-cycle: design/architecture, implementation, testing, deploying and maintenance. 
• Work in a lightweight agile process with focus on efficiency and collaboration.

Who you are:

• You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and you are excited by the challenge of building something from the ground up. 
  
• You also bring the following skill set to the table: 
• Solid experience with full-stack JavaScript development including Node.js, jQuery, React 
  
• Some experience with Python
• Solid experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, good understanding of non-relational database concepts and use cases
• Experience with deploying and operating web applications on AWS or GCP platform
• Experience with Git/GitHub
• Awareness of security concerns in web development
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Good level of (spoken & written) English
• You need to be eligible to work in Sweden

Mandatory merits: 

• Ability to showcase former or existing relevant projects, private or work-related 
• Hands-on experience with full life-cycle of a build including functional specifications, work estimates, design, development, cross-browser testing, bug resolution and deployment
• Experience in building a marketplace platform

COLIVE is an active contribution in the strive for a more open and sustainable society through its offering of sustainable, social and cost-efficient accommodation for young adults between 20 -35 years. COLIVE aims to help solving the housing shortage in the major cities, which in turn will facilitate growth, as companies easier can recruit talented people. It also enables social inclusion. 

COLIVE offers modern community housing in new built properties designed for friction-free house management with more residents per square meter. In each dwelling, approximately 6 – 10 people share kitchen and living room that constitutes of half of the total area. The remaining area consists of private bedrooms. The cost level is kept down by the reduced area per person, which is halved compared to a conventional apartment. 

COLIVE provides property owners with design and concept input during construction of new COLIVE buildings and is then renting the whole properties from its owners. COLIVE does not own real estate but acts as an operator and manages the matching of tenants as well as the ongoing operation of residences. 

To create the optimal mix of tenants in the accommodations and reduce the risk of conflicts, COLIVE provides a software platform, “The COLIVE Community”, that enables matching of tenants based on interests, personality, values and other preferences. This aims to increase the likelihood of establishing well working communities in each home and reducing risks of conflicts.
