Job description

As a software developer, you are interested in what happens under the hood of modern digital sales channels. You are familiar with one or two of the following technologies such as JavaScript, Typescript, React, Node.js, iOS/Android, ReactNative, Clojure, Scala, PHP, Python or some other front-end or back-end technology. Both backend and front-end development interest you — but of course we don't expect you to know it all — it's much more important that you are eager to learn new technologies and ways of working. In this role you will have a top-of-the-class development team to support you in learning and you’ll have the ability to create real impact in our clients’ business.

All summer workers will work together with other Columbia Road consultants as a multi-discipline growth hacking team building new digital businesses to our customers in various business domains. This means you'll collaborate daily with designers, marketing specialists, strategy consultants, as well as our clients' personnel and stakeholders.

Most of our summer workers typically continue as part-time or full-time employees after the summer.

Here's how you know you're a good fit

We are looking for ambitious university or higher education students or graduates studying the skills needed in various aspects of digital commerce. You might already have some experience in digital projects, whether from school or a personal hobby project (or even from work).

You are self-driven, active and want to continuously learn new things. You understand the basics of digitalisation and you approach problems in an analytical manner. You would love to work in a fast-paced startup environment solving real-life customer problems from various business domains.

You are comfortable in communicating matters related to your own work and you enjoy working with other people in an agile environment. It’s not a problem for you to present your own ideas to a small group of people from time to time, for example in a workshop.

You are looking for a workplace where you get to learn new things fast from more senior experts and where you get a lot of responsibility.

Requirements

You are a student or recent graduate with some work experience or projects related to software development. We don’t expect you to have years and years of experience - lots of positive energy and a “getting things done” attitude is the winning combination. We also don't require you to be in the final year of your studies – some of last summer's workers are currently finishing up their bachelor's degrees.

By nature, you are analytical and like to solve problems. You are able to bring clarity to uncertain and chaotic situations. You are ambitious and results-oriented in everything you do, but you like to have fun as well.

You will have a great chance to grow with us, nurture your own ambitions and learn new skills within digital sales.
