We’re Margot International, a Stockholm-based startup and industrial equipment marketplace on the mission to transform the marine industries. Think of Airbnb, Ebay or Amazon and now replace the properties, the second-hand items and the retail products with marine equipment such as underwater robots and ship parts. That’s us.

We have the first version of our online platform up and running with 300 corporate users and 200 listed products worth over 80 million dollars. We have raised our first round of capital with some of the finest professionals from the tech and marine industries.  

So all that awaits is for you, our lead Ruby on Rails developer to join us and help us deliver the marketplace that empowers our ecosystem to transact online.

What are the challenges?

Unlimited possibilities come with challenges. The items we list are generally complex with pricing in the range of 10 000 dollars to 10 000 000 dollars. Our transaction options range from direct sales to auction and rental plus other ideas we are currently working on.

So all in all, the list of possibilities in the product roadmap is massive and we’re looking for a tech lead who can understand the possibilities and challenges and help us deliver a system that can help us realize our full commercial potential.

Responsibilities: 

• You will be the tech lead of the product and will have complete ownership of our product roadmap.
• You will have complete freedom to choose the stack choices and change them if needed.
• You will play a key role in building our tech team for the future and setting the team culture to deliver products that exceed expectations.

Requirements:

1. 3+ years of experience in designing, building large-scale Ruby on Rails applications;
2. Track-record of continuous integration and delivery;
3. Familiarity with Heroku and Postgres;
4. Leadership and communication skills to front the development of our tech-team;
5. Fluency in English.
