Yepstr is a marketplace-game where ambitious teenagers start their careers by doing jobs in their neighborhood (babysitting, dog-minding etc.). As our Yeps (Young Entrepreneurs) level up they can charge more, access more jobs and eventually start accepting jobs for companies. We make sure the process is fun and safe. When we’ve succeeded, kids leave school with a CV full of job reviews and professional references, migrants are quickly integrated into society and neighbors know each other.

About the role as a Product Owner at Yepstr

As Product Owner at Yepstr you are ultimately responsible for prioritizing the backlog - deciding what we build next.

This means that you are responsible for the entire user experience - from the second a user visits yepstr.com or app store to finalizing transactions. It will also be your responsibility to plan and conduct experiments and user tests to guide your decision-making. We also have a lot of data available in Mixpanel, so you will likely spend a bit of time there as well to check the impact of implemented changes.

To succeed in, and enjoy this role we think it is very important that you are a curious person - curious about people, curious about how the world works.

We believe you need to have proven experience in taking products from idea to release, most likely in a startup environment. You are passionate about creating user experiences that really has an impact, and “user friendly” is your mantra. Finally, you won’t purely be working with the product - as a core team member in Yepstr you are also expected to show positive leadership. It can be small things like arranging a walk or a dinner at your place - or it can be bigger things like pulling the team together for a deeper wine-fuelled discussion about where we want to take our business :)

We consider it a big plus if you have some experience with Art Direction, Graphic Design or Copywriting.

Your future team 

You will be spending most of your time with our CEO Jacob Rudbäck who founded Yepstr to stop his father's nagging about finding help with lawn-mowing. Jacob has a bit too much energy, runs barefoot on Kebnekaise and teases everyone he meets.

You’ll also be working closely with our Community Manager Sofie von Krusenstierna, who speaks with our users daily. Not only the coolest and strongest girl in Stockholm (“plankan” for 7 minutes) she also hosts the coolest events and parties. For example this summer we’re all working from her house in Gotland during Almedalsveckan.

In addition, you’ll be working with Karl Löfholm - our UX/UI/frontend-dev who is a bit of a multi-mensch. Karl never says no to doing a backflip or trying to convince us to listen to hip-hop and he will get you up to speed with the tools we use in no time.

Finally, you’ll be discussing what’s easier / harder to build with our full stack coder Gustav who has built a majority of the existing platform. You remember Swebits? Fildelning at Dreamhack? That was Gustav.
