We are looking for a flexible developer that has a passion for learning, expanding their skills and putting out quality content on behalf of the Geras Solutions app. As an early Mobile Engineer for Geras you will be one of the founding authors of our native iOS app. You will also have the challenge and opportunity to work with an emerging technology (Xamarin or React Native), in order to help further the groundwork already laid in our Beta Ionic v1 app.

You are a fast thinking programmer that is excited about learning new technologies, pays attention to detail, has mastered testing and producing code, and has a passion for helping improve the health of the elderly and changing the Dementia world.

Competence requirements:

- 2+ years of experience developing native iOS applications in Xcode IDE using Objective-C or Swift.

- 2+ years of experience shipping front-end JavaScript production code in high quality applications

- Experience with working with Agile focused environments

- Managing performance and profiling of C# applications

- .Net experience

- Building and shipping production iOS apps

- API design and implementation

- SQLite and CoreData experience

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Bonus points for: 

- Act as subject matter expert for mobile development

- Code and ship complex new mobile features and apps at high velocity and high quality with well-structured code

- Troubleshoot debug, and fix issues in production and non-production environments

- Coach and mentor peer engineers to become great developers and recommend best practices and tools.

- Work with server engineers to design API specs

- Back end experience

- Web development

- UI/UX design

- Android development

- Familiar with application submissions to the Apple Store    

- Familiar with MDM solutions and concepts to develop internal applications

At the end of your first 90 days at Geras, we expect you will do the following:

- Understand our beta app

- Implement the beta app into Xamarin or React Native and be nearer to a v1 completion phase

- Code and begin at least one new complex feature that we did previously have

- Teach and inspire other engineering team members through knowledge sharing, pair programming, and/or giving feedback during code reviews

- Propose and implement one or more process improvements to make our engineering team even better
